TrailBlazers Cricket INC

TrailBlazers Cricket have designed 90-minute sessions around small group interaction to give the optimum attention and learning potential for your young cricket player. The player-coach ratio gives the coaches a perfect environment to impart their vast cricket experiences on a more individual basis, while still being able to teach those skills in a game situation.

15 minutes:

Warm up drills

45 minutes: Skills session

The main part of the session will focus on the specific skills listed below:

  • Batting
  • Bowling
  • Fielding/Wicket Keeping– Catching, Throwing, Ground Fielding

30 minutes:

Short game

A tailored game with an emphasis on the day’s skill.

All participants are required to purchase a FieldhouseU t-shirt from the front desk for $20.  Each participant will need this shirt for the skills training each week.

Coach Unni

A certified level 2 coach (Cricket Australia), Unni Krishnan comes with over 12 years of experience on the professional cricket circuit. Before moving to Dallas in 2015, he was an assistant coach at the ICC Academy in Dubai. Now in America, Coach Krishnan has coached with Texas Cricket Academy and traveled to various youth tournaments focused on talent scouting for USA Cricket. With this nationwide experience, he understands the landscape of American cricket and what it takes for talent to make the cut to the national level.

Beyond coaching, Unni worked in SportsMechanics; the current analytics consultant for the Indian cricket team. He has also been a performance analyst with the Indian Premier League (IPL) teams, Deccan Chargers and Pune Warriors. His 5-year stint in the IPL gave him the experience that forged his ability to view the game from an analytical perspective.

Coach Krishnan has been fortunate to have learned from and worked with some of the most renowned coaches in the world such as Darren Lehmann, Robin Singh, Trevor Penny, Mike Young, and the current USA coach Pubudu Dassanayake. He has also worked in the same ecosystems with the likes of Adam Gilchrist, VVS Laxman, and Rohit Sharma.  Coach Krishnan’s goal now is to help raise the level of cricket in the USA with a prime focus on producing cricketers who can be added to this esteemed list.
